A Little About Us

Montessori school

Montessori schools educate children in a spirit of partnership and peace – inspiring a sense of wonder, and nurturing children’s natural curiosity, creativity and imagination.

Here at ‘The Children’s House’ in Chestnut Grove, Balham, children from 2 years of age enjoy a delightful environment where care, co-operation and creativity are encouraged.

There’s ‘Tea Time for Toddlers’, an introduction to the school for 2 year olds accompanied by an adult, that take place in the afternoons from 3.30pm to 4.30pm by arrangement.

Then there’s ‘The Toddler Community’, where children from approximately 2 years of age can attend during the afternoon from 1.30 till 3.00 or from 2.30 till 4.00 – a perfect follow-on from Tea Time for Toddlers.

And finally,

‘The Montessori Children’, where the full Montessori curriculum is offered, along with visiting teachers for Music, French, Drama, Gymnastics, Sports, Yoga and Dance. Flexible sessions are available, from just Three half days a week to full-time, for three school terms or for up to 46 weeks of the year.

Extended care, starting at 8.00am and finishing at 6.30pm, is also available, as well as Holiday School. Older children can be picked up from local schools, helped with their homework, join in with a fun activity and finish the session with a tasty tea.

If you would like your child to enjoy a head start with the very best in pre-school learning, please contact Ms Frances Lundy.
