Miss Frances – Owner
Miss Frances opened The Montessori School In January 1997 for her twin daughters and three other children. Over the last twenty one years, it has gradually grown, filling the lovely Victorian house it occupies in Chestnut Grove. Having originally trained as a dancer and teacher at The Royal Ballet School, Miss Frances qualified as a Montessori Directress in order to enhance her teaching of very young children. Her strong belief in the method inspired her to start the school and she continues to run it, with the support of an excellent team, alongside her dance studio in Chiswick. She also enjoys mentoring students from Montessori Centre International through their teaching practise and acts as a practical teaching supervisor for The Royal Academy of Dance.
Miss Isadora – Deputy Head
Miss Isadora was one of the first pupils to attend The Montessori School. She later went on to train in Dance at The Brit School and then obtained her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Criminology at Roehampton University. Miss Isadora has recently completed a Master Degree in Affective Disorder at Kings College London and will be commencing a Doctorate in Psychology and Counselling. Miss Isadora initially worked at the nursery as a teaching assistant, covered maternity leave as a teacher and eventually took on her current role. She is the school Lead for Safeguarding and Special Educational Needs. Miss Isadora teaches Aerobic Gymnastics in her spare time and is an ex-British Champion.
Miss Venetia-Rose – Finance
Miss Venetia-Rose was one of the first pupils at The Montessori School. She later went on to train in Dance and Media at The Brit School, gaining a Bachelors Degree in Radio Production at Westminster University. Having freelanced in radio production and talent management, Miss Venetia is currently training in accountancy.
Miss Gaelle Cousins – Head of Three and Four Year Olds
Miss Gaelle is the Montessori Directress in our White Classroom (our oldest children) and has overall responsibility for the children attending their final year with us, throughout the rest of the school. She teaches cookery in our after school club.
Miss Yasmin – Head of Two Year Olds
Miss Yasmin is the senior Montessori Directress for the younger children, having responsibility for the Pink, Blue and Raspberry Classrooms and The Nest.
Miss Teresa – Head of EYFS and Front Class Teacher
Miss Teresa has been teaching in the UK since 2013 as an Early Years Teacher. She has qualified teacher status (Post Graduate in Early Years Teaching) and is a Master in Education. She also holds the Montessori Practical Certificate. Miss Teresa is a grandmother and enjoys marathon running in her free time.
Miss Sabrina – Garden Class Teacher
Miss Sabrina is a qualified Primary School Teacher and will complete the Montessori International Diploma this Spring.
Mr. Montell – Garden Class Teacher
Montell has a BSc Exercise and Sport Sciences, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education and the Montessori Practical Certificate. He has represented Surrey County FA at U15&U16 level, represented Colliers Wood FC, Raynes Park Vale FC and Spelthorne Sports FC at a Semi-professional level and competed for Richmond Park Academy at Richmond Borough athletics meetings.
