Miss Frances – Owner
Miss Frances opened The Montessori School In January 1997 for her twin daughters and three other children. Over the last twenty two years, it has gradually grown, filling the lovely Victorian house it occupies in Chestnut Grove. Having originally trained as a dancer and teacher at The Royal Ballet School, Miss Frances qualified as a Montessori Directress in order to enhance her teaching of very young children. Her strong belief in the method inspired her to start the school and she continues to run it, with the support of an excellent team, alongside her dance studio in Chiswick, which she has run for thirty five years. She also enjoys mentoring students from Montessori Centre International and Modern Montessori International through their teaching practise and acts as a practical teaching supervisor and Mentor for The Royal Academy of Dance. Miss Frances is also a Level 1 Enquiry Lead for Children’s Philosophy.
Miss Isadora – Deputy Head
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)
Miss Isadora was one of the first pupils to attend The Montessori School. She later went on to train in Dance at The Brit School and then obtained her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Criminology at Roehampton University. Miss Isadora has recently completed a Master Degree in Affective Disorder at Kings College London and is now studying a Doctorate in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. Miss Isadora initially worked at the nursery as a teaching assistant, covered maternity leave as a teacher and eventually took on her current role. She is the school Lead for Safeguarding and Special Educational Needs. Miss Isadora teaches Aerobic Gymnastics in her spare time and is an ex-British Champion.
Miss Venetia-Rose – Finance
Miss Venetia-Rose was one of the first pupils at The Montessori School. She later went on to train in Dance and Media at The Brit School, gaining a Bachelors Degree in Radio Production at Westminster University. Having freelanced in radio production and talent management, Miss Venetia is currently training in accountancy.
Miss Gaelle Cousins – Head of Three and Four Year Olds – Garden Class teacher
Miss Gaelle is the Montessori Directress in our White Classroom (our oldest children) and has overall responsibility for the children attending their final year with us, throughout the rest of the school. She teaches cookery in our after school club. Miss Gaelle has two grown up children and a younger son and in her spare time enjoys cooking and crafts – many of which become the inspiration for activities with the children.
Miss Yasmin – Head of Two Year Olds
Miss Yasmin is the senior Montessori Directress for the younger children, having responsibility for the Pink and Blue classrooms and The Nests. In her free time, Miss Yasmin is an excellent Salsa dancer and also enjoys Bachata and Kizomba. Miss Yasmin obtained a Degree in Nutrition at Kings College London.
Miss Teresa – Head of EYFS and Front Class Teacher
Miss Teresa has been teaching in the UK since 2013 as an Early Years Teacher. She has qualified teacher status (Post Graduate in Early Years Teaching) and is a Master in Education. She also holds the Montessori Practical Certificate. Miss Teresa is a grandmother and enjoys marathon running in her free time.
Miss Sabrina – Nest Teacher
Miss Sabrina is a qualified Primary School Teacher and holds the Montessori International Diploma. Miss Sabrina has a young son and in her spare time she enjoys reading and having fun with her family.
Miss Clara – Pink Class Teacher
Miss Clara is from Hong Kong and has a degree in Graphic Art. She is currently completing the International Montessori Diploma.
Miss Lin – Blue Class teacher
Miss Lin is from China and holds the International Montessori Diploma. Originally, she started to train as an accountant, but decided a career working with children would be much more exciting. After gaining the Montessori Diploma, Miss Lin went on to gain a Degree in Early Childhood Studies. In her free time she plays the piano and takes a keen interest in the news.
Miss Francesca – Garden Class Teacher
Miss Francesca has completed her International Montessori Diploma this academic year and has thoroughly enjoyed becoming a teacher in the Garden Class. In her free time, Francesca enjoys going to the theatre and baking.
Miss Louize – Classroom Assistant
Miss Louize is the Green Nest teacher and speaks fluent French, Spanish and English. She loves to travel and has a cat called Kali.
Miss Luisa – Garden Class Teacher/ One to One Support and Social Skills Group Leader
Miss Luisa teaches in the Garden Class and also works wonders with our children who need additional support. She teaches them in small groups and individually, to ensure they get the most out of their time at the school. Miss Luisa has a degree from the Guildhall School of Music and is a Classical Soprano. When she is not at the school, she is a violin and vocal coach, performs at weddings and in concerts and loves to cook.
Miss Emma – Green Nest Teacher
Miss Emma teachers in the Green Nest. Her passion for the Montessori approach has inspired her teaching and driven her to study a Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy with the MCI London. Prior to this, Emma taught in Pre-school as an Art Teacher, Ballet/Dance Teacher and Gymnastics Coach alongside working as an Area Manager within the Arts and Entertainments industry in the Merlin attractions teaching and managing special effects make-up artists/animators. Her passion for creativity and working with children has been at the forefront of her practice as she now studies towards becoming a qualified Montessori Teacher.
