Food at the Nursery

Our menu is carefully created weekly, by our chef George, and we do not have a rota system for the menus. This results in all the children who stay for lunch having the opportunity to try many different meals, regardless of if they only eat with us on one day or five days each week. All dishes are made from fresh food on a daily basis. This term, we would like to incorporate a day of children’s favourites and parent’s suggestions each week. Chef George bakes most of our bread and all of our biscuits – this term we hope to introduce mainly home made crackers.

Breakfast Menu

Cereals: Weetabix or Porridge with Sultanas and Banana

Toast: Served with Butter, Jam and Honey

Hot/Cold Food (2 served per day): Sausages, Hard Boiled Eggs, Baked Beans, Ham

Monday

Snack: Cheese, orange & Pear
Lunch:Cauliflower & Chickpea Curry, Watermelon
Supper: Chicken Stew, Greek Yoghurt with Honey

Tuesday
Snack: Crackers, Apple and Carrot
Lunch: Chicken & Sweetcorn Noodle Soup, Pineapple Halva
Supper: Mac & Cheese, Banana with Custard

Wednesday
Snack: Homemade Biscuits, Crackers, Pear and Cucumber
Lunch: Shepherds Pie, Yoghurt
Supper: Homemade Pizza, Apple Strudel

Thursday
Snack: Crackers, Bread and Butter with Banana

Lunch: Jacked Potatoes with Tuna Mayo, Cheese & Salad, Sticky Toffee Pudding
Supper: Vegetarian Lasagne, Vegan Raspberry Jelly

Friday
Snack: Homemade Humus with Crackers Apples & Vegetable Sticks
Lunch: Fried Rice with Tofu, Onions, Peppers, Peas, Sweetcorn, Carrots, Cabbage, Pak Choi & Broccoli, Fresh Fruit Salad
