Food at the Nursery

Our menu is carefully created weekly, by our chef George, and we do not have a rota system for the menus. This results in all the children who stay for lunch having the opportunity to try many different meals, regardless of if they only eat with us on one day or five days each week. All dishes are made from fresh food on a daily basis. This term, we would like to incorporate a day of children’s favourites and parent’s suggestions each week. Chef George bakes most of our bread and all of our biscuits – this term we hope to introduce mainly home made crackers.

Breakfast Menu

Cereals: Weetabix or Porridge with Sultanas and Banana

Toast: Served with Butter, Jam and Honey

Hot/Cold Food (2 served per day): Sausages, Hard Boiled Eggs, Baked Beans, Ham

Tea: Pizza, Yoghurt with Honey

Tuesday – India
Snacks: Crackers, Apple and Carrot

Lunch: Chicken Tikka Massala, Yoghurt
Tea: Bhurta ( Indian Eggplant), Queen of Puddings

Wednesday – China
Snacks: Homemade Biscuits, Crackers, Pear and Cucumber
Lunch: Shanghai Chow Mein, Ice Cream
Tea: Beans & Special Rice Stir Fry, Mixed Berries Smoothie

Thursday – United Kingdom
Snacks: Crackers, Bread and Butter with Banana

Lunch: Lamb Stew, Apple Cake
Tea: Fish & Chips, Fresh Pineapple

Friday  – France
Homemade Hummus with Crackers Apples & Vegetable Sticks
Lunch: Quiche Lorraine, Fresh Fruit Salad
Tea: Salmon Rillettes, Blackcurrant Jelly
