Food at the Nursery

Our menu is carefully created weekly, by our chef George, and we do not have a rota system for the menus. This results in all the children who stay for lunch having the opportunity to try many different meals, regardless of if they eat with us on one day or five days each week. All dishes are made from fresh food on a daily basis and Chef George bakes most of our bread and all of our biscuits.

Snack – Hardboiled eggs, cottage cheese and crackers

Lunch – Homemade vegan pesto pasta

Dessert – Fromage fraise

Tea – Kedgeree

Dessert – vegan raspberry jelly

 

Tuesday

Snack – Homemade guacamole with crackers and vegetable crudité

Lunch – Homemade smoky baked beans with sausages and homemade bread

Dessert – banana and oat cookies

Tea – Spanish omelette

Dessert – Greek yogurt and honey

 

Wednesday

Snack – Brown rice salad with honey and yogurt dressing and crackers

Lunch – Moroccan couscous with lamb and steamed broccoli

Dessert – Homemade ice cream

Tea – Moussaka and fruit salad

 

Thursday

Snack – Apple, pear and cucumber with crackers

Lunch – Coq-au-vin with homemade bread

Dessert – Watermelon

Tea – Sausage and mash with onion gravy and mixed salad

Dessert – Banana milkshake

 

Friday

Snack – oranges and bananas with cheese and crackers

Lunch – Fish pie with mixed vegetables

Dessert – Homemade pancakes with fruit toppings

Tea – Beef brisket croquettes and salad
